Fire protection and evacuation assistants

Fire safety and evacuation staff are appointed to support the university in preventing the spread of fires and evacuating the affected buildings.

If an evacuation and/or fire alarm sounds, their tasks are as follows:

  • support employees in fighting incipient stage fire,
  • evacuate the affected areas by directing and instructing employees and guests,
  • if possible, check whether all affected areas have been evacuated,
  • prevent persons from re-entering the affected building.

Fire safety staff remain on site until the evacuation alarm has been lifted in order to secure the entrances. Fire safety staff should never risk their own health/life.

For new fire protection assistants there are annual briefings with practical extinguishing exercises. You are welcome to register by e-mail with Arbeitssicherheit. You will then be informed of the dates in good time.
