Awardening of Fellowships

This year, the Zukunftskolleg had issued calls for applications for 5-year Research Fellowships, a 5-year Hector Pioneer Fellowship as well as for 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowships.

On two meetings in October and in November/December, the Recruitment Committee selected the candidates.

Joint Publication of Tanja Rinker and Valerie Shafer

Tanja Rinker, Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg associated with the Department of Linguistics, and Valerie Shafer, Senior Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg, co-published a paper with Markus Kiefer, Nancy Vidal, and Yan H. Yu titled "T-complex measures in bilingual Spanish-English and Turkish-German children and monolingual peers".

We express our solidarity with the Central European University! For the Zukunftskolleg, as an institution which promotes the early careers of young international researchers of all disciplines, independence is the essential idea: researchers shall be able to do research free of restraints. Any act that endangers the freedom of academia and the independence of scientific institutions worldwide has to be resisted!

A new perspective on the European colonisation of Asia

Excavations in Taiwan by María Cruz Berrocal’s international research group demonstrate that the region was already a globalisation hub during the early 17th century. María Cruz Berrocal is a Research Fellow at the Zukunftskolleg of the University of Konstanz and associated with the Department of History and Sociology.
