At the beginning of December, four of our recent ZUKOnnect and Herz Fellows attended the ERUA ECR Workshop on "Interdisciplinary Research and Engaging the Non-academic" at the University of Roskilde.

The Zukunftskolleg is pleased to announce a new call for Zukunftskolleg Konnect (ZUKOnnect) Fellowships. The ZUKOnnect Fellowships support early career researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America related to one of the thirteen departments of the University of Konstanz. Application deadline is 15 February 2023.

In its latest call for one 2-year Postdoctoral and one 5-year Research Fellowship (closing date for applications was 31 October 2022), the Zukunftskolleg received 59 applications.

The Mayor of Konstanz, Uli Burchardt, has visited the Zukunftskolleg on 8 November to discuss about "urban and sustainable development".

Welcome again to Anna Stöckl - one of our new Research Fellows from the Department of Biology. Today (17 October), she is giving a lecture at the University of Konstanz entitled “Visual processing underlying natural behaviour - From single photons to pattern recognition”.

Nadir Weber (Alumnus / History and Sociology) has been appointed as first "Eccellenza" assistant professor at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland.

Alice el-Wakil (Postdoctoral Fellow / Politics and Public Administration) has been appointed as assistant professor in Political Theory at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Anamaria Bentea is one of our new Research Fellows from the 16th call for applications for fellowships. She has started her fellowship in August and is affiliated with the Department of Linguistics.

We congratulate Sidney Carls-Diamante (Postdoctoral Fellow / Philosophy) who got funding from the Karst Stiftung as well as the Messmer research award 2022 for her project “Attitudes towards voluntary death in persons with bipolar disorder".

Julián Torres-Dowdall (Postdoctoral Fellow / Biology) has been appointed as assistant professor (with tenure track) at Notre Dame University, Indiana, USA.

From 14 to 15 July, the new members of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of the Zukunftskolleg met for the first time in Konstanz.

The award ceremony took place on 15 July 2022 in the Kastaniengarten on Mainau Island.
