Manfred Ulmer Fellowship 2022 for Angelo Javier Neira Albornoz

This year's Manfred Ulmer Fellowship is awarded to ZUKOnnect Fellow Angelo Javier Neira Albornoz from the Department of Computer and Information Science tonight at the Regional Science Forum in Donaueschingen.

In his current research project ("Development of continuous improvement QSAR models to predict sorption of organic pesticides in soils at field conditions"), Angelo Javier Neira Albornoz from Chile wants to develop scientific models that can better characterise and predict the fate of organic pesticides in soils. In doing so, he takes into account decision-making processes in different socio-ecological contexts, such as science and politics.

The “Manfred Ulmer-Stiftung für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft” at the University of Konstanz finances one of the four ZUKOnnect Fellowships with 6,000 euros per year. The ZUKOnnect Fellowship supports young researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The 39th edition of the Regional Science Forum is organized by the University of Konstanz and the Manfred Ulmer-Stiftung für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft. The public event takes place from 6.30 pm to 9 pm at the Museum Art.Plus in Donaueschingen. Katharina Holzinger, Rector of the University of Konstanz, and Severin Graf, Mayor of Donaueschingen, will welcome the guests.
