Data protection declaration

Das International Office bietet jedes Semester eine Vielzahl von Infoveranstaltungen für internationale Studierende der Universität Konstanz zu verschiedenen aktuellen Themen an.

Die ersten Infoveranstaltungen werden bereits vor dem Studium an der Universität Konstanz angeboten, wo die Studierenden noch zumeist noch nicht in Konstanz sind.
Die anderen Infoveranstaltungen werden jedoch während dem Studium an der Universität Konstanz angeboten.

Wegen der aktuellen Einschränkungen werden die Infoveranstaltungen eventuell nicht in Präsenz angeboten werden können, jedoch sollen Interaktion und Austausch nicht zu kurz kommen. Deshalb treffen wir uns zu bestimmten Veranstaltungszeiten in einem Online-Seminar, wofür wir das Online Seminartool Adobe Connect nutzen werden oder in einer Videokonferenz, wofür wir das Videokonferenztool Adobe Connect nutzen werden.

Wir empfehlen Ihnen, aus Gründen der IT-Sicherheit, die Infoveranstaltungen über den Browser beizutreten (beste Kompatibilität mit Browser Google Chrome oder alternativ Mozilla Firefox). Sie müssen den Client nicht installieren.

Während der Infoveranstaltungen werden persönliche Daten verarbeitet. Informationen zur Datenverarbeitung in dieser Infoveranstaltung finden Sie weiter unten auf der Seite unter "Datenschutzinformation".

Die Sitzungen werden vom International Office (teilweise) aufgezeichnet, damit Studierende, die an diesen Infoveranstaltungen nicht teilnehmen können (wegen unterschiedlicher Zeitzonen oder sonstigen Verpflichtungen zur Zeit der Veranstaltung, etc.) diese nachträglich anschauen können.
Sie als Teilnehmer*in dürfen keine Aufzeichnungen dieser Sitzungen anfertigen oder den Link und das Passwort zum Raum an andere Personen weitergeben.

Diese Online-Meetings sind zentrale Bestandteile der Infoveranstaltungen.
Grundsätzlich müssen Sie weder Mikrofon noch Kamera aktivieren, um an den Infoveranstaltungen teilzunehmen. Wir bitten Sie jedoch in Ausnahmefällen mit Mikrofon teilzunehmen und Ihre Kamera zu aktivieren, wenn Sie darum explizit gebeten werden und/oder es die Situation erfordert.
Falls technische Probleme auftreten oder falls Sie aus Datenschutzbedenken nicht an den Online-Meetings teilnehmen wollen, schreiben Sie bitte eine Nachricht an: frank.e.lutzenberger@uni-konstanz.de.

Bitte erklären Sie Ihre Kenntnisnahme der obenstehenden Informationen sowie Ihre Einwilligung zu der beschriebenen Datenverarbeitung, indem Sie die Einverständniserklärung am Ende der Seite ausfüllen und absenden.
Sie erhalten den Link und das Passwort zu den Infoveranstaltungen dann direkt im Anschluss per E-Mail zugeschickt. Bitte überprüfen Sie daher auch gleich im Anschluss Ihre E-Mails und ggf. Ihren Spam-Ordner.
Wie oben bereits erwähnt, dürfen Sie den Link und das Passwort zu den Infoveranstaltungen nicht an Dritte weitergeben.

4. Legal basis

We process your data based on your consent as per Article 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Purpose and scope of data processing

When you actively participate in a videoconference or online seminar, the following data will be processed, e.g.: the IP address, your name, the meeting metadata, audio and video files, chat content. The processed data are required for an active participation and the recording of the event for publication on the International Office website.

6. Consequences of not providing data

Should you not give your consent, you cannot participate in the online event mentioned above. You will not suffer any further disadvantages.

7. Using cookies

When you visit a page, the browser will save a so-called “session cookie” to the end device in use after a one-time log-in to protected areas. The cookie will be deleted as soon as the browser is closed. The purpose here is to recognize multiple related requests from the same user, which preserves the user's log-in status while using the website. Blocking these cookies can impair access to and use of the website.

8. Recipients

Employees of the International Office of the University of Konstanz and the other participants of the above-mentioned online event only have access to the content data (audio and video files, chat transcripts, list of participants). Internal recipients are also those employees who require the data for their activities within the scope of fulfilling their tasks (e.g., employees in the Communication Information and Media Center for technical provision).

9. Storage duration

Data related to your person will be deleted after 6 months.

10. Your rights

• In accordance with Article 15 GDPR, you have the right to request information from the University of Konstanz about any data it stores that is related to your person and/or to have incorrect data corrected as per Article 16 GDPR.
• You can withdraw your consent at any time as per Article 7 GDPR. The withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of data processing if consent had been provided before its withdrawal.
• Moreover, you also have the right to have your data deleted (Article 17 GDPR) or the processing of data limited (Article 18 GDPR).
