Where can I find internships?
The Career Service database includes current internship opportunities, including internships abroad. Different departments also have their own databases with internship opportunities and sometimes even experience reports from past interns. Contact your department for more information.

If you are studying the natural sciences or engineering, IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) can help you find a relevant internship in an IAESTE member country. The University of Konstanz IAESTE Team has office hours once a week.
The RISE programme provides bachelor’s and teacher education students in the natural sciences the opportunity to complete a research internship abroad. Calls for applications and registration are available each year, usually in November/December. Important: The deadline for intenships in Canada is in September.

You found an internship! What’s next?
We highly recommend you check the quality of the internship, especially if the position was found through a recruiting agency. A summary of criteria you should use is included in the Qualitätscheck Auslandspraktikum brochure (in German).
Often, an internship abroad is more expensive to finance than an internship in Konstanz or the surrounding area. Make sure you get informed early about possible funding options. The most common funding programmes are included in our Info-Blatt (in German).
The Erasmus+ programme provides grants for full-time internships you find by yourself at European businesses, organisations, universities, etc. (except for: diplomatic missions, EU institutions, extraterritorial institutions).

Grants for compulsory internships for students in France
The Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO) provides scholarships for bachelor’s students of any subject who are in the sixth or lower semester. Scholarships for internships in France You can apply up to one month before your internship begins. You can find more detailed information on the FGYO website.
Walter-Hallstein-Programme - scholarships for international working stays in public services
The Walter-Hallstein-Programme as part of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM provides students at the final stages of their Bachelor‘s or during their Master’s study with scholarships for international working stays in public services. As part of the working experience, the scholarship holders work on specific topics that are of particular relevance for the future. By contributing to international networking, the programme aims at strengthening the European idea and European-wide cooperation. Students from Baden-Württemberg, who plan to do compulsory internships in civil service organizations in European countries towards the end of their Bachelor‘s or during their Master’s study are eligible for scholarships from 2 to 11 months.
Applications can be handed in until the 30th of April 2019 via the online application tool BWS World. Please find more information about the programme here.
For internships in non-Erasmus+ countries
The PROMOS programme funds compulsory internships abroad with a country-dependent travel allowance. PROMOS does not fund internships in countries where funding is already available from the Erasmus+, IAESTE or AIESEC programmes.
Application deadlines: 1 February (internships between March and July) and 1 June (internships between August and December).

The State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg funds internships (between one and seven months) in Israel with a monthly stipend (for BA students 650€/month, for MA students 750 €/month). Applications have to be submitted to the International Office, Ms. Eva Maisel. The deadline for internships in 2020 is October 16, 2019.
