Data protection information and registration

Privacy Policy

The International Office offers a multitude of information meetings for international students of the University of Konstanz on various current topics every semester.

The first info events are offered before students start their studies at the University of Konstanz, where most of the students are not yet in Konstanz.
However, the other info meetings are offered during their studies at the University of Konstanz.

Due to the current restrictions, the info events may not be offered face-to-face, but interaction and exchange should not be neglected. Therefore, we will meet at certain event times in an online seminar, for which we will use the online seminar tool Zoom, or in a video conference, for which we will use the video conference tool Cisco WebEx.
Please take note of the privacy information for these tools.
You can find it further down the page under "data protection information".

For IT security reasons, we recommend that you join the info meetings via browser (best compatibility with browser Google Chrome or alternatively Mozilla Firefox). You do not need to install the client.

Personal data will be processed during the info meetings. Information about data processing in this course can be found further down the page under "data protection information".

The sessions will be (partially) recorded by the International Office so that students who cannot attend these info meetings (due to different time zones or other commitments at the time of the event, etc.) can watch them afterwards.
You as a participant are not allowed to make recordings of these meetings or give the link and password to the room to anyone else.

These online meetings are central components of the info meetings.
In principle, you do not need to activate the microphone or camera to participate in the info meetings.
Please switch on your microphone, and activate the camera when asked to do so and/or if the situation so requires.
For improved functionality and performance, we recommend installing the Zoom application for the desktop!
Without installing the Zoom application for the desktop, you might not be able to turn on your microphone or webcam for interactive participation.
If technical problems arise or if you do not wish to participate in the online meetings due to privacy concerns, please write a message to: frank.e.lutzenberger@uni-konstanz.de.

Please indicate your acknowledgement of the above information and your consent to the described data processing by completing and submitting the consent form at the bottom of the page.
You will then receive the link and password to the information meetings directly afterwards by e-mail. Therefore, please also check your e-mails and, if necessary, your spam folder immediately afterwards.
As mentioned above, you may not pass on the link and password to the information meetings to third parties.

You can withdraw your consent by sending an e-mail message to: frank.e.lutzenberger@uni-konstanz.de.
