After your home university exchange coordinator has nominated you for exchange at the University of Konstanz, you will receive an e-mail with all necessary informaion to start you application for admission.
1. Application for admission
For admission we need the following documents uploaded to Mobility Online from you until 15 May (for the Winter Semester) or 15 November (for the Summer Semester):
- Transcript of Records
- B2 language certificate (German or English)*
- Copy of passport (page with photo)
- Proof of housing deposit payment (copy of bank transfer receipt)
- Erasmus+ students with non-EU/EEA citizenship: copy of residence permit
* Native speakers of English or German do not need to provide a language certificate
Study Proposal for Non-EU students
In Mobility Online you will be asked to indicate which courses you would like to take during your exchange at the University of Konstanz. Please refer to the course catalogue of previous semesters, as the courses of your specific semester will not yet be published at this time.
2. Issuance of the letter of admission
As soon as we have successfully checked your documents, you will be able to download the letter of admission directly from Mobility Online.
Please note that all following steps for enrolment will only then be available for processing!
The letter of admission contains the payment information for the social contribution fee as well as the GO-Konstanz fee.
3. Upload of all documents necessary for enrolment
The International Office will enrol you at the University of Konstanz before you arrive. This will enable you to pick up your Unicard and the most important documents on the first day.
Please upload the following documents by July 15 (for the winter semester) or January 15 (for the summer semester):
Health insurance:
- EU/EEA students: copy of both sides of the EHIC
- Non-EU/EEA students: Proof of German statutory health insurance
Also necessary:
- Proof of payment of the social contribution fee and the GO-Konstanz fee (if applicable)
- Portrait foto (for the Unicard)
Non-EU students with visa obligation
Please upload a copy of your long-term study visa until the deadline for enrolment (15 July or 15 January).
Non-EU students without visa obligation
Pease upload a valif proof of finances until the deadline for enrolment (15 July or 15 February). Please find more information on this topic here.
Erasmus+ students with non-EU/EEA citizenship
Please upload a copy of your EU residence permit.
Students that have previously studied in Germany
If you have already studied in Germany, we need a certificate of exmatriculation from the other German university in order to enrol you in Konstanz. Please ask the respective university for this document.
4. Formalities for Erasmus+ students
Erasmus+ exchange students must show their home university's Erasmus+ coordinator 3 documents in order to obtain the Erasmus+ scholarship:
- Learning Agreement (before arrival at the host institution and in case of changes of the document upon arrival)
- Confirmation of Arrival/ Departure at the host instituion
- Transcript of Records provided by the host institution (after completion of studies at the host institution)
All Erasmus+ forms will be provided by the Erasmus+ coordinator at your home university and must be signed by the University of Konstanz. Please pay close attention to the respective submission deadlines for each Erasmus+ form provided by your home university.
Important:
Please upload your initial Erasmus+ Learning Agreement before your arrival in Konstanz. The signed Learning Agreement will be sent back to you by email. There is no explicit deadline for the upload!
What is the Learning Agreement?
The purpose of the Learning Agreement is to provide a transparent and efficient preparation of the exchange to make sure the student receives recognition for the activites successfully completed abroad.
The Learning Agreement sets out the programme of the studies to be followed abroad and must be approved by the student, the sending and the receiving institution before the start of the exchange.
The Learning Agreement should include all the learning outcomes the student is expected to acquire during the exchange.
All three parties signing the Learning Agreement commit to comply with all the agreed arrangements, thereby insuring that the student will receive the recognition for the studies carried out abroad without any further requirements.
