Single Review on past events

Internationalization at the University of Konstanz is not global. When mapping the institutional collaborations and biographical backgrounds of international scholars several white spots on the global landscape become apparent, while other areas seem overrepresented. Is this picture the result of selective measures? Most existing collaborations and their local distribution emerged through individual strategic decisions on departmental and institutional levels as well as through research collaborations established on the basis of the interests of individual scholars. Should we strategically tackle this misfit in internationalization? And if so – how?

In the joint workshop, the Zukunftskolleg and the International Office approached the issues as outlined above together with the invited experts Susanne Köpping (Baden-Württemberg International), Jenny Kopsch-Xhema (University of Hohenheim, Food Security Center), Peter Scott (University of Warwick, Warwick Institute of Advanced Study), Peter Sundin (Uppsala University, International Science Programme), Vivian Tos Lindgaard (University of Copenhagen, International Staff Mobility), and Isabelle Halleux (University of Liège, Research & Development).
