Jour Fixe: María Cruz Berrocal "Archaeology in the Pacific: interdisciplinary approaches to the archaeological record"

The Zukunftskolleg invited everyone to the jour fixe led by María Cruz Berrocal.

María Cruz Berrocal (Associated Fellow / Dept. of History and Sociology) talked about "Archaeology in the Pacific: interdisciplinary approaches to the archaeological record".

Abstract:

Archaeometric approaches are widely used in archaeology to better understand the archaeological record in many dimensions that go beyond the recovery and study of archaeological artifacts. In this talk, I will present some of the research questions and some of the methodological approaches that I am using, in collaboration with a broad group of researchers of different disciplines, to unravel questions of large historical consequences through small-scale analysis. I will present my main scientific concerns and a particular case study located in northern Taiwan.
