“Natural HERstory”

Photo exhibition until 17 June in the library at the University of Konstanz

During her research trip to Panama, Daniela Rößler (Postdoctoral Fellow/Biology) and her Master student Nadja Geiger (Biology) collected photos and videos of spiders, monkeys and birds, and interviewed women working there in the field. Since their impressions were so fascinating they decided – supported by the Zukunftskolleg - to present them publicly in an exhibition entitled "Natural HERstory": "In this exhibition, we are inviting you to take a moment to connect with and observe the natural world. Our photos and videos showcase animals in their natural habitat, just being, providing a calming and immersive experience”, says Daniela Rößler. “Join us in discovering the intersection between nature, science and curiosity and in celebrating the female perspective. We dive into the Panamanian rainforest, highlighting inspiring women who study it and the diversity of animals living there as well our own research on spider sleep."

At the opening of the exhibition on 4 June, Barrett Klein (https://www.pupating.org/) gave a talk on “A celebration of Art & Science by Women”. The opening was combined with an auction: All photos could be purchased and the money raised goes to ABC Microgrants:
