I have researched/developed something that could be interesting for society and/or business. How do I proceed now?

We will be happy to check whether your work result is a patentable invention. Please fill out the corresponding form and send it to Alexander Ebner, Department of University Development, Research and Transfer, P.O. Box 214. There is no financial risk for you, but as an inventor (community) you will receive 30% of the gross proceeds generated by the exploitation of the invention by the university.

As a rule, the patenting procedure can be coordinated in such a way that there are no problems with your planned publications. However, to ensure this, we ask you to involve us at an early stage. Please note that as an employee of the university you are legally obliged to report inventions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Alexander Ebner (alexander.ebner@uni-konstanz.de).
