Committed to inclusivity

YERUN network publishes statement regarding BREXIT

The University of Konstanz, as an active partner in the 18-member strong YERUN (Young European Research Universities Network) community representing 12 EU countries, has published a joint statement in response to the United Kingdom officially starting the legal process for leaving the European Union. With its statement, YERUN affirms its full support for its partner universities in the United Kingdom. The network intends to continue to support current partnerships and to further develop the joint efforts in advancing sustainable collaboration in research and teaching across Europe.

YERUN encourages the negotiating partners from the United Kingdom and the European Union to not only safeguard British-European university collaboration, but also to ensure that the European spirit of inclusivity in higher education will be nurtured in the future. These efforts should include negotiating terms and conditions that will allow universities from Great Britain to take part in EU funding programmes.
