Since March 2023, doctoral researchers from various disciplines at the University of Konstanz have been providing weekly insights into their life with their doctoral thesis. This happens on the Instagram channel "PhDiary" @phdiary_unikonstanz. As part of the excellence measure "Science Writer", the project was initiated by the university's social media editorial team and further developed and implemented in close cooperation with the doctoral researchers Josefine Honke (Cultural Studies) and Katrin Isabel Schmitt (Literary Studies).
"PhDiary" aims to enable young academics to communicate professionally via social media and to deepen their own practical experience in the field of science communication. At the same time, the format aims to demystify the "PhD" time and create a supportive community for current and prospective PhD students through interdisciplinary exchange.
