Getting your writing done - together

"Shut Up and Write" and "Let's talk about texts" - writers don't have to be lonely.

Writing Week from March 20-24

Use our writing week to get a move on!

Our writing weeks take place regularly during the semester break.
We offer writing, reading, and work time each day, both face-to-face and online - no matter what you have to write. We work with the Pomodoro technique. That means: Set a concrete goal and concentrate on your work for 25 minutes. After a five-minute break, move on to the next round, and after three rounds, take a longer break - it's amazing what you can finnish in that time!

It doesn't matter if you participate every day or only once: We look forward to meeting you.

Our schedule:

  • 09:00 start the day and set your goals
  • 09:20 three Pomodoro sessions
  • 10:50 coffee break
  • 11:15 three Pomodoro sessions
  • 12:45 lunch break
  • 14:00 short mobilization from the university sports department

Shut Up and Write - focussed writing sessions

There is a lot of writing to be done at our university: term papers, minutes, grant applications, theses, journal articles etc. It can be hard to find the time to focus on writing in our busy everyday lives.

This is why we offer several focussed writing sessions every week for everyone at our university. In three 25 minute writing slots, we "Shut Up and Write". At the moment, these sessions are offered via Zoom. As soon as possible, we will change to a hybid format. You can find the Zoom link in our newsletter.

Our current writing sessions are:

  • Monday 10:00 - 11:30
  • Tuesday  13:30 - 15:00
  • Thursday 8:30 - 10:00
  • Friday 13:30 - 15:00

You do not need to register for a session - we welcome regular writers as well as occasional visitors. Get everything ready you need (laptop, books, paper, pens, something to drink...) and get started with us. We promise: It will be productive.

By the way: The doctoral students' conventions offer additional SUAW times for doctoral students. To receive updates on session times, subscribe to their mailing list: Schreibzeiten für Promovierende".
