Intramural university calls for proposals with joint application deadline on 15 February 2022

Next to service offerings and advisory services, the University of Konstanz offers its researchers a number of financial funding opportunities to improve their working and research conditions and to support innovative ideas in research and teaching. Funding is provided on a competitive basis and aims at enabling applicants to further their projects, break new ground, develop project ideas or initiate collaborations. This should facilitate significant preliminary work for the development or sharpening of research priorities, cooperation across departmental, faculty and university boundaries and enhances competitiveness in applying for external funding.

Do you have a project in mind and are looking for the right support measures? Until 15 February 2022, you can apply for a number of intramural university calls for proposals in the areas of research and support of early career researchers as well as networking and internationalisation:

Excellence Strategy

As part of the Excellence Strategy, the university will support you in preparing large collaborative projects (Research Initiatives) or in finding topics and partners for such projects (Networking Platforms). The same applies to excellent, risky individual research and smaller teams (Blue Sky Research Endeavours). With the help of Infrastructure Platforms (Core Facilities), you can strengthen the equipment and structural infrastructure for research at the university, while Transfer Platforms promote knowledge transfer by facilitating cooperation with partners from society, politics, culture, business and industry and by promoting start-up projects. For more information on these calls, please visit the website of the Committee on Research (AFF).

International Office

The University also supports internationalisation measures in the following funding lines:

  1. Travel and accommodation costs for doctoral students and researchers at the University of Konstanz for projects abroad in teaching or research or for participation in conferences or workshops.
  2. International guest lecturers, virtual guest lectureships, virtual teaching and virtual teaching in co-teaching teams.
  3. Start-up funding for international projects.
  4. Initiation of new or further development of existing international partnerships.

Digital or hybrid formats are welcome in all four funding lines, and you can also apply for project funds for measures that are carried out entirely or partially virtually.

For detailed information, please also visit the website of the International Office.

Zukunftskolleg

The Zukunftskolleg offers researchers with temporary positions a diverse network of funding opportunities after they have completed their doctorate. This includes research project funding tailored to meet the needs of early-career researchers (Independent Research Grant), means to enter into a research partnership with established colleagues (Mentorship Programme), and the opportunity to develop and explore new, innovative and/or high-risk research perspectives across disciplines (Interdisciplinary Collaborative Projects). The Transdepartmental Collaborative Teaching programme allows grantees to develop their teaching skills, while the Intersectoral Cooperative Programme aims to promote cooperation with industrial partners, companies, social institutions, cultural institutions, archives, public institutions or non-profit organisations. Further information on these calls for proposals can be found on the Zukunftskolleg website.
