On 06-08 April, the In_equality Conference 2022 will take place at the Bodenseeforum Konstanz and online. Registration for online participation is still possible until Saturday, 02 April.

A festive evening event on 06 April 6 with a public lecture (in German) by Steffen Mau (Humboldt University Berlin), a panel discussion and a welcome reception will kick off the event: "Ost und West heute. Spannungen und Brüche im Prozess der Deutschen Einheit".

The lecture is open to the public. Admission starts at 5:00 pm, the lecture begins at 6:00 pm. Admission is free, separate registration by e-mail to events.inequality@uni-konstanz.de is requested.

The interdisciplinary conference on 07 and 08 April covers broad areas of inequality ranging from gender, ethnic, wealth, and educational inequality, to questions concerning the welfare state, debt and austerity, to a large section on how inequalities are perceived, misperceived, framed and talked about. In total, the program consists of three keynotes by Catherine De Vries (Bocconi University), Stefanie Stantcheva (Harvard University) and Jason Stanley (Yale University), more than 60 scientific presentations, a poster session and two panels by scientific partner organizations.

Online participants will have access to a "digital twin" of the conference: In a virtual 3D environment, they can follow all presentations and participate in the discussions, move from panel to parallel panel, make contact with other participants (including spontaneous chat and video call breakout rooms) and take part in the poster session.

The In_equality Conference 2022 is organized by the Konstanz Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality". Registration and all information about the program can be found on the conference website.
