German citizens with international educational certificates
If you have German citizenship, you will have to submit the recognition of your educational certificates by the Stuttgart Regional Council or the Certificate Recognition Office of another federal state in your application .
(Please be aware that the recognition may take several months.)
The certificate of recognition is only valid in combination with your proof of education (in the original language and translations into German or English). Only translations by sworn or state-approved translators will be accepted.
Before submitting your application documents, you can check how your foreign proof of education (e.B. school or university degree) will be evaluated in Germany. The information portal on the recognition of international educational qualifications provides information on the assessment of foreign educational qualifications and supports you in the classification of international qualifications in the German education system.
Please note:
If you did not obtain your university entrance qualification at a German-speaking school, you are required to provide evidence of having good German language skills. The required German language skills need to be demonstrated by a DSH certificate or an equivalent certificate.
