Sexual harassment, sexual violence and stalking

At the University of Konstanz, we pursue a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to sexual harassment, discrimination on the basis of gender, or sexual violence. Sexual harassment can take various forms, such as:

  • the showing of salacious photographs (e.g. in your shared office, on the computer)
  • unsolicited staring
  • salacious remarks, emails, text messages
  • unsolicited physical contact
  • explicit offers
  • promises made in return for sexual favours

The impact behaviour such as this can have on those affected can include the following:

  • a feeling of discomfort around certain people
  • doubts as to whether one’s perception is quite “right”
  • avoidance behaviour
  • stress, anxiety, fear
  • sleep disorders or illness

Don’t suffer in silence! Speak out about what happened to you. The university undertakes to offer study and working conditions that are free from discrimination. If you have questions about sexual harassment, please speak to one of the contact persons listed below.
