Does the Konzil building count as a work location?

The rented rooms in the Konzil building are considered as work location for teachers and examiners, as long as they work there on a regular basis (e.g. to teach and the like). This means that no prior application and approval is required for staff members' travel between the university campus and the Konzil building, as it does not constitute business travel. The time necessary to travel between the campus and the Konzil building counts as working time.

Is "eduroam" WLAN/Wi-Fi available?

Yes, eduroam is available. Stadtwerke Konstanz installed four access points in the "unterer Saal/Konzil2" (downstairs room), and eight access points in the "oberer Saal/Konzil1" (upstairs room).

Guests and persons without a university account can connect to "KonstanzWLAN" without needing a password. As at the university, you can connect to "eduroam" using your university account. What is the Konzil building?

The Konzil building was constructed as a granary and storehouse at the end of the 14th century (1388-1391), and it was sometimes used to host trade shows for canvas vendors. From 1414 to 1418, it was the site of the only papal election north of the Alps during the Council of Constance. It is considered to be the largest existing medieval secular building in southern Germany, and it has been used as a restaurant, banquet hall and congress centre since 1912.
