FIAS Fellowship for Gruia Badescu
Congratulations to Research Fellow Gruia Badescu (History and Sociology): His application for a FIAS fellowship at the Paris Institute for Advanced Study has been selected for the 2024-2025 cohort.
FIAS offers a 10-month research stay at the Institute, from September 2024 to June 2025. According to the call website, “FIAS fellows benefit from privileged work conditions at the Institute”, housed in the Hôtel de Lauzun on the Ile Saint-Louis in the heart of Paris, together with a monthly remuneration, an apartment, support for event organization, and travel expenses to/from Paris. The Paris Institute for Advanced Study “welcomes international researchers from a variety of disciplines, facilitating their exchanges and supporting their contacts with the Ile-de-France scientific community and the non-academic world.” As part of the fellowship, Gruia will collaborate with the "Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales" (INALCO) and "L’École des hautes études en sciences sociales" (EHESS), as well as with the City of Paris. He says: “I look forward to create these links with the French research system and to advance my research on my Parises project and beyond.”

He will return to the Zukunftskolleg in July 2025.
