Research and teaching need a solid financial basis - but this is precisely what is at risk. Negotiations are currently underway in Baden-Württemberg regarding the university funding for 2025/2026. The current draft threatens the quality of research, teaching and study conditions.
Our student representation is therefore organising demonstrations together with HTWG Konstanz. The Rectorate is taking part in the demonstration in Konstanz and is calling on everyone to join in.
Echolocating bats have been found to possess an acoustic cognitive map of their home range, enabling them to navigate over kilometer-scale distances using echolocation alone.
This finding, recently published in Science, was demonstrated by researchers from the Cluster of Excellence Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour at the University of Konstanz Germany, the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior, Tel Aviv University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.

Recognized again and again: Being a University of Excellence means we support our members in the best way possible as they make their ideas reality. Our concept creative.together describes how we promote top-level research, exceptional teaching and innovative ideas – for a culture of creativity.
Internationalization is key for us. This is why we promote international cooperation in research and student mobility, recruit excellent international (early career) researchers and work to increase our international visibility.
By successfully participating in the European Universities Initiative, we have taken another important step towards a joint European Education Area: Within the university network European University for Well-Being (EUniWell) learning, teaching and researching across borders will become a reality.

I work primarily on Urdu (syntax, morphology, semantics, some phonology) by taking both synchronic and historical aspects into account. Occasionally, I branch out to other South Asian languages or even work on German. Currently, I'm concentrating on the history and distribuution of case and complex predicates in South Asian languages.
