Stadtwerke Konstanz is now making it possible for university members in Konstanz to access the network eduroam (Education Roaming) via KonstanzWLAN. Eduroam is a network that gives members of educational and research institutions worldwide access to the international research network as well as to internal networks and specific applications at the corresponding university. Up to now, university members in Konstanz could only use eduroam via our internal university WLAN/Wi-Fi networks due to the high security requirements. Eduroam acts as a VPN hotspot through which a secure connection to the internet can be established.
Now eduroam can also be accessed via KonstanzWLAN, which is available at several central city locations, on the ferries between Konstanz and Meersburg as well as on Mainau Island.

KonstanzWLAN is available free of charge at Bodanplatz, Rosgartenstrasse, Marktstaette, Bahnhofplatz, Hafen, Stadtgarten, ferry Konstanz-Meersburg, Mainau Island.
