Diversity Awareness Week

Together with the HTWG Konstanz - University of Applied Sciences, the Muslim university group and the city of Konstanz, the Office for Equal Opportunity, Family Affairs and Diversity invites you to take part in the Diversity Awareness Week from 17 to 22 May 2021.

At a lecture, while looking for an apartment, in a virtual conference, while shopping, at the club: people experience discrimination in numerous everyday situations. Sometimes it is only small but razor-sharp remarks as well as unmistakable insults, in the worst-case open hatred and physical violence. People experience racism, antisemitism and discrimination, for example, because of their educational biography, social and economic background, religion, origin, gender or sexual orientation. How much more humane, on the other hand, would be a society in which we live together with respect and appreciate the potential of our diversity?

In a wide variety of formats, the Diversity Awareness Week intends to raise the awareness of social diversity, but also of marginalization and hostilities in our society and encourage discussions about how we can counteract discrimination.

The opening event is scheduled for Diversity Day on 17 May at 18:45.

You can find all activities in the flyer as well as more information about how to register at: Diversity Day and Facebook.
