WHERE IS KONSTANZ?
Nestled in the heart of Europe, Konstanz sits on the pebble shores of the Bodensee (known as Lake Constance in English). In less than an hour you can cross the German border into Austria, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland, the so-called "four country region" connected by the Bodensee. Getting here is also easy: it’s an one hour train ride from Zurich Airport or two hours from Stuttgart.
WHERE IS THE UNIVERSITY OF KONSTANZ?
Located on a hillside before a panorama of the Bodensee, the University of Konstanz enjoys one of the most attractive addresses for higher learning in Germany. Its campus, just a few kilometres from the town centre, is known for playful architecture that encourages interdisciplinary encounters. Founded in the 1960s, the relatively young university is one of Germany's elite Universities of Excellence and the nation’s top university under 50.
