abstract

Every day a huge amount of user behavior is collected in the web. Every single click, purchase, played song, etc. is recorded. This information provides a rich source for learning user preferences and adapting web pages automatically to each single visitor's taste. Recommender systems for such a personalization play an important role in today's online shops, news pages, video platforms, etc. Whereas early recommender systems are based on user demographics, item attributes and explicit preferences, almost all modern systems are based on the analysis of user behavior. In this talk I will present recent methods that go beyond the approaches known from Amazon & Co.
