The minimally invasive treatment of patients in catheterization labs is rapidly gaining importance. Typical endovascular procedures cover the recanalization of occluded blood vessels (e.g., in patients with ischemic strokes), the treatment of tumors, as well as the treatment of certain heart diseases, amongst others.

In this talk, we will present recent research topics and concentrate on the requirements that these minimally invasive procedures impose on interventional image acquisition and image processing. In particular, we will discuss novel approaches towards functional imaging in the angiography suite.
