We welcome Cornelia Klocker to the Zukunftskolleg

Cornelia Klocker is one of the two 2-year Postdoctoral Fellows to join the Zukunftskolleg in April. She is affiliated with the Department of Law.

Cornelia did her PhD at Birkbeck College, University of London (supervisor: Prof. Bill Bowring), UK. After finishing her doctorate, she has been working on her book "Collective punishment and international human rights law" due to be published next year. She has also been teaching Constitutional and Administrative Law at Birkbeck Law School until the end of February.

“My research at the Zukunftskolleg centres on an empirical study of the European Court of Human Rights' non-discrimination case law and the groups it considers to fall within its scope," Cornelia explains. “By analysing the ways in which the Court has addressed groups in its non-discrimination case law and whether its approach is limiting or supporting rights held by groups, this study aims to contribute to the body of group rights research from a practical perspective.”
