Successful Zukunftskolleg Alumni/ae

Four former Fellows of the Zukunftskolleg obtained offers of a professorship.

Professor Michael W. Bauer accepted the offer of a W3 Professorship for Politics and Management at the Humboldt University in Berlin on 1 October 2009. Before it he refused offers of professorships at the Universities of Kiel and Konstanz. Since July 2005 Michael W. Bauer has been a member of the former Centre for Junior Research Fellows at the University of Konstanz (ZWN) and afterwards Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg until July 2009.

Professor Thomas Bräuninger has been an Emmy Noether Research Group Leader at the Department of Politics and Management at the University of Konstanz. Following his long-term membership in the ZWN he was Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg until November 2008, also temporarily its Director. He was appointed as a W3 Professor of Political Economy at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim since the winter term 2009/10.

Professor Georg Jochum accepted the newly created Professorship for European Law and International Law of Regulation at the Zeppelin University (ZU) in Friedrichshafen on 1 July 2009. Georg Jochum has been a member of the ZWN since July 2003 and Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg until November 2008.

Professor Kirsten Mahlke has been a member of the ZWN since December 2002 followed by a Zukunftskolleg Fellowship until November 2008. She won an ERC Starting Grant in 2009 and was now offered a W3 Professorship for Romanic Literature Studies with the focus on french and hispano-american literature at the University of Heidelberg.
