The Zukunftskolleg has established effective structures for the promotion of junior researchers since 1 November 2007.
The Zukunftskolleg was founded out of the desire to enable international junior researchers a promising career. From the beginning, it was aimed specifically at postdoctoral researchers. Since 2007, the Zukunftskolleg has awarded 99 fellowships and many of its alumni have been appointed to a professorship.
"We are convinced that the opportunities created by the Zukunftskolleg successfully support junior researchers in a critical career phase. We provide them with adequate ressources for their own research projects and created a stimulating environment. They also benefit from a coaching programme," says Giovanni Galizia, Director of the Zukunftskolleg.
