Assistant Professorship for Paraskevi Salamaliki

We congratulate Paraskevi Salamaliki who has been appointed as an Assistant Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Ioannina, Greece.

During the current winter semester, she has been teaching Macroeconomics I (postgraduate/Master) and Economic Applications using Software Packages (undergraduate/Bachelor). In the spring semester 2021, she will be teaching Topics in Macroeconomics (undergraduate/Bachelor). Her current research focuses on the effects of fiscal space on the policy response to financial crises (distress), aiming to understand why and how fiscal space matters for policy response. “To this end, we expect to contribute to the literature on the role of market access constraints, the role of persistent budget deficits, and the role of policymakers’ choices and ideas”, explains Paraskevi.

Paraskevi was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Zukunftskolleg from September 2013 until August 2015. From March 2016 until July 2019, she was a lecturer (fixed-term) at the University of Patras in the Department of Economics.
