Assistant professorship for Nadir Weber at the University of Lucerne

Nadir Weber (Alumnus / History and Sociology) has been appointed as first "Eccellenza" assistant professor at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland.

His project “Republican Secrets. Silence, Memory, and Collective Rule in the Early Modern Period” is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation's (SNSF) career funding instrument “Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship” with a total of 1.56 million Swiss francs for five years. The framework is highly competitive - of the 244 projects submitted this year, 32 are funded.

Nadir will focus on the tensions between publicity and discretion in early modern Europe.
