Zukunftskolleg Visiting Professorship

In 2011 the University of Konstanz awarded a Zukunftskolleg visiting professorship for the first time. The triennial professorship has been developed by a cooperation between the Zukunftskolleg and the Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology. Prof. Vinod Subramaniam from the Dutch University of Twente will be the first Zukunftskolleg Visiting Professor at the University of Konstanz effective October 2011.

Prof. Subramaniam’s research interest is diversified; during his early scientific career, engineering sciences and applied physics have been the main topics. Nowadays, his research is more focused on biophysical and biochemical basics of the “Proteinfaltung” (ist das richtig? Bitte unbedingt Malte Drescher fragen, wie das genau heißt in Englisch!) In this area Prof. Subramaniam will closely cooperate with the Zukunftskollegs’ research fellow Malte Drescher; further on there are existing links to the research of the fellows Marilena Manea and Dominik Wöll. Vinod Subramaniam will turn in for a first short visit on October 26 and 27, 2011. The Zukunftskolleg is looking forward to welcoming him.
