Doris Penka (Research Fellow/Dept. of Linguistics)

Interdisciplinary Joint Publication

"Linguistics and Philosophy" recently published the article "Number word constructions, degree semantics and the metaphysics of degrees" of Doris Penka (Research Fellow/Dept. of Linguistics) and Brendan Balcerak Jackson (Alumni/Dept. of Philosophy)

The Zukunftskolleg brings together a remarkable number of linguists and philosophers who work on issues in natural language semantics, from a variety of backgrounds and methodological perspectives. To take advantage of this unique opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange, in 2014 Research Fellows Brendan Balcerak Jackson (Dept. of Philosophy) and Doris Penka (Dept. of Linguistics) co-organized a Working Group on the Foundations of Semantics.

Now, the journal "Linguistics and Philosophy" published their article "Number word constructions, degree semantics and the metaphysics of degrees", presenting results that emerged from the collaboration back in 2014.
