This week's Jour Fixe will be presented by Leila Whitley. Leila is a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Zukunftskolleg affiliated with the Department of Literature.

Leila is also co-founder of the Critical Feminist Network on Migration and Refugees, which will host its first meeting in Konstanz between 22-24 June. The Critical Feminist Network on Migration and Refugees aims to build durable collaborations across disciplinary and national boundaries among established and emerging scholars whose work departs from a feminist perspective that centres gender and sexuality as key analytic lenses through which the repercussions of war, violence, forced displacement, asylum, and resettlement in the everyday experiences of women, men, and LGBT+ people can be understood. The first two network events are funded by the Zukunftskolleg and the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Connection Grant). In her presentation, Leila will talk about how the network understands the need for an approach to migration that integrates analysis of gender and sexuality, and the interdisciplinary and international structure of the collaboration.
