Acting on behalf of the "Stiftung Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft an der Universität Konstanz", a University of Konstanz foundation, the Zukunftskolleg awards the Manfred Ulmer Scholarship once every year.
The programme pays 1,000 euros per month over a period of six months. It enables scholars to bridge a financial gap between their studies and their doctoral phase. For the duration of the funding period, scholarship recipients are members of the Zukunftskolleg as associated fellows.

The programme is open to those who have finished their degree and have either not yet started or are just starting their doctoral studies. The programme is open to candidates from all disciplines.
Currently no call for applications - calls for applications are published in the first quarter of the year. Applications submitted outside the given application cycles cannot be accepted.

- Curriculum vitae
- A summary of your previous research
- Publication list
- Master's thesis
- Information about your funding and current employment status, whatever the case may be
- Letter of support from your potential supervisor
