Konzil, City of Konstanz

Jennifer Randerath (Research Fellow/Dept. of Psychology)

Cornelia Exner (University of Leipzig), Lutz Jäncke (University of Zurich)

The German Society for Neuropsychology (GNP) will have its yearly conference with more than 250 participants at the University of Konstanz, September 21-23. The Konferenz is hosted by Prof. Thomas Elbert (Clinical Neuropsychology) and Dr. Jennifer Randerath (Research Fellow/Dept. of Psychology).

The Neuropsychology conference will be kicked off with a satellite symposium on Wednesday 20th of September including a panel discussion. Dr. Jennifer Randerath invited Prof. Cornelia Exner (University of Leipzig) and Prof. Lutz Jäncke (University of Zürich) to discuss The Future of Neuropsychology at Universities. The discussion will be chaired by Prof. Petra Wirtz (University of Konstanz).

Neuropsychology is an interdisciplinary field and as such some Universities represent the topic as an appointed chair and others cover the topic by prorating it across other chairs (e.g. Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology/ Neuroscience, Biological Psychology).

The recent developments in neighboring disciplines such as Clinical Psychology may have a significant impact on the career-path of junior scientists. How does a junior scientist qualify for an academic career in Neuropsychology? The topic is not only relevant for the scientific community, but also for students, since teaching and training may be dependent on these developments. This in turn may affect clinics and rehabilitation institutes who recruit graduated students for clinical work. The satellite symposium is supported by the Zukunftskolleg.

If you would like to attend the satellite symposium, please register with Jennifer Randerath,,  until 12 September.

Participation fee: 36 Euro.
