Continuous improvements to our information and communications technologies are changing society in superficial as well as structural ways. The digitisation of our lives and production areas leads to an unprecedented availability of data, which influence and change our economic, cultural, social and political actions. Between personalisation and socially informed algorithms, self-metering and remote monitoring, between big data, free access to information and political mobilisation, new opportunities and dependencies arise and are contested.
