In this paper we present an IFS-based technique for image compression which captures self-similarity with a permutation code. Our technique generalises Jacquin's scheme by migrating from the small, sparse space of classical isometries to the huge one of permutations. A fast match based on a significant scalar feature shows that the potential of such a code can be exploited with low computational complexity.
