In this paper, we propose a fractal image coding technique based on error-control method. By analyzing error gap between collage error and reconstruction error, we make correction to the selected domain blocks to reduce the collage error as well as the error gap. In this way, the reconstruction error is substantially reduced, and the collage theory is corrected. In simulation experimentation, we have got obvious incremental performance under condition of almost similar compression ratio with classical fractal image coding theory
