In this paper we study how the Fractal-Wavelet transforms perform in image compression and give a framework for this class of image coding method. We also treat "horizontal", "vertical" and "diagonal" scaling factors of quadtrees independently according to the statistic analysis of test image orientation property and get a result in a merked improvement in accuracy with respect to quantization for image compression.
