Kilometer1 - if you come across this term in Konstanz, odds are that what is meant is the start of the international measurement of the river Rhine's length in kilometer, which officially begins at the Rhine bridge. But in the future, it will also come to stand for things like starting a business, start-ups, great ideas and creativity, because we - the University of Konstanz and the Hochschule Konstanz University of Applied Sciences (HTWG) - want to support your business journey as best we can. At the core of Kilometer1 is an ideas competition that enables winning students and doctoral researchers to go on a study trip to Silicon Valley. If you want to lean more about Kilometer1 and how you can take part, please visit our Kilometer1 website.
At Kilometer1, we want to encourage students AND doctoral researchers to consider starting a business. To that end, both universities will pool their resources and strengths. The programme is funded within the framework of the “Gründungskultur in Studium und Lehre” project to encourage start-ups from the university setting, which is financed by the “Erfolgreich Studieren in Baden-Württemberg” fund, and runs from 2017 until 2019.
