Professor Kerstin Krieglstein is the new rector of the University of Konstanz

On 3 July 2018, Professor Kerstin Krieglstein was elected as the new rector of the University of Konstanz (19 of 30 total votes with two abstentions). The election took place during a joint meeting of the two election bodies, the Senate and University Council. The early appointment of a new rector became necessary after the current rector of the University of Konstanz, Professor Ulrich Rüdiger, was elected to become rector of the RWTH Aachen University. Professor Krieglstein will take office on 1 August 2018.
