Over the course of two foundational projects, the foundation "Hector Stiftung II" has provided the university with a total of 12 million euros since 2011.
Funding amounted to:
- 3 million euros in 2011 to establish the "Hector Personalfonds an der Universität Konstanz" (staff fund)
- 3 million euros in 2013 to add to the "Hector Personalfonds an der Universität Konstanz"
- 6 million euros in 2016 to cover the University of Konstanz’s contribution to the construction of the "Centre for Visual Computing of Collectives" (VCC) in the context of the federal and state governments’ Programme on Research Buildings
In recognition of his commitment, Dr Hans-Werner Hector was named an honorary senator of the University of Konstanz in 2011.
