Between 2000 and 2005, the University of Konstanz Society (UGK e.V.) awarded one doctoral student per year a grant for € 5,000. The grant was to be used to learn a special methodology, gain literature or language competencies, or to acquire specific skills and knowledge only available in a certain country during an academic period abroad lasting at least four weeks.
