Quality assurance resources

After the general tuition fees were eliminated by the summer semester of 2012, the state universities received funding from the state until the summer semester 2015 as compensation in accordance with the state quality assurance law. To further safeguard the quality of study and teaching, the university received for every student in a bachelor’s or consecutive master's programme 280 euros per semester. This funding had to be utilized for ensuring the quality of study and teaching (Qualitätssicherungsmittel - QSG-Mittel) (quality assurance resources. The university decided on how to use these QSG funds in consultation with the student’s union.

With the signing of the Hochschulfinanzierungsvertrages für die Jahre 2015-2020 (university financing contract for the yeas 2015-2020) (see "Perspektive 2020" on page 6 no. 7.1.) and in accordance with the accompanying legislation, these funds were integrated in the same amount into the basic budgets of the universities beginning in the winter semester of 2015/2016. Per the recommendation of the student body, the Rectorate will use 11.764% of the funds to secure the quality of study and teaching at the university. An administrative provision provides further information on this topic.
