Campus & Career Competence Portfolio

Campus & Career

  • Would you like to start making preparations for your career while studying?
  • Do you want to expand your individual competencies and gain new ideas for your future career?
  • And would you like to be able to present your individual profile clearly and concisely when applying for jobs?

Starting in the summer semester of 2017, the Career Service is offering a new format to help you do this: Our Campus & Career Competence Portfolio lets you develop your personal interests and competencies, collect ideas for internships and career choices and make contact with business professionals, all the while improving your chances of securing the job you want.

The Campus & Career Competence Portfolio is an open format that allows you to prioritise as you see fit, even while still studying, and thus to create a unique profile that is consistent with your personal interests. The Campus & Career Competence Portfolio consists of personal and professional competencies pertaining to the following areas:

  • Orientation (ORI)
  • Individual professional qualifications (BIQ)
  • Professional fields & employer contacts (BKA)

How to participate

Drop by the Career Service to register for the Campus & Career Competence Portfolio and collect your personal folder with additional information. First, however, you need to register with Career Service.

As soon as you register, you may attend events in the areas named above. Our Career Service events as well as those offered by other units/departments are marked by corresponding symbols. You are, of course, free to attend any other on-campus events not explicitly associated with the programme. We will recognise and add them to your portfolio. Please note, however, that these must relate thematically to one of the four areas named above.

The portfolio is an open format designed to help you build a unique profile within the university context. You must attend at least one event/workshop/consultation from each area. It goes without saying that you will benefit even more from attending a wide range and number of events.

The programme is open to students from all departments and completely free of charge if you’re enrolled at the University of Konstanz.

What’s in it for you

The portfolio consists of a sheet upon which all career-relevant lectures, workshops and qualifications that you attend are recorded. Once you reach the end of the programme, this record will be signed by a member of the Career Service team and included with your job application.
