Our advisory services

Walk-in advising

Feel free to contact us with all your general questions and concerns, e.g. about your job application documents.

Walk-in advising is, however, limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.

During the lecture period, our walk-in advising sessions take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-11:20 in room D410/D411.

In order to keep waiting times to a minimum, we will put up a registration list on the door to D410/411. You are welcome to send us your materials in advance via email.

Please note: We do not offer walk-in advising in the SSZ during the semester break. During this time, please make an appointment by phone or via email.

Individual consultation

We will be happy to take the necessary time for a longer individual consultation. An individual consultation usually lasts about 60 minutes.

Please contact us via email to make an appointment for a longer consultation. We usually can schedule an appointment for a date within the next two weeks. You are welcome to send us your materials in advance via email.

Job application check

You can also take advantage of our walk-in advising services or make an appointment for an individual consultation and bring along your job application.

If you don’t happen to be in town, you can just send us your materials via email and request a short feedback or ask us any remaining questions on the phone.

Telephone and online advising

Are you out-of-town but have questions about your career-planning or your job application documents? We would be happy to advise you on the phone or via email!

Our advising philosophy

Our advising services are free of charge and open to all University of Konstanz students, graduates (up to two years after graduating) and doctoral researchers. Our advisors have all completed a certified advisor training programme and possess may years of experience in job-search and career advising. We can consult with you in German or English.

The contents of your individual consultation remain confidential; you and the issue discussed can stay anonymous, if you wish. Our consultations are open, unbiased and resource-based. This means you are completely free to make all the decisions yourself. We assist you with assessing problems for yourself and making your own decisions.
