Spaces of Communal Sense

One central topic for us is the philosophical and historical question of the term "communal sense", which we pursue in workshops and speeches. In old Egypt, ma'at means something like truth, justice, and unity, and can well be summed up to "communal sense". This principle was valued as the highest virtue opposing egoism and lies as the worst vices. A further intersection of our research focuses is "memory culture" which is especially important for the level of city and nation, as well as the level of school. The shared focus of our communal sense project is on the practice and the social spheres of action on the levels of nation, city, and school.
