2011/2012: Evaluation of the Centre for Teacher Education (ZLB)

Contents and Objectives

In connection with the restructuring of the ZLB in 2007, the Senate decided to carry out an evaluation of the structure after three years. The following evaluation topics were given priority status:

  • Structure and leadership of the ZLB (goals, strategy, planning, and implementation)
  • Relationships to external partners and the interface to other university units (e.g. the departments)
  • The functions and performance range of the ZLB
  • Student and department satisfaction with the service orientation and the task performance of the ZLB

Procedure

  1. Student survey regarding the satisfaction with the performance and the service orientation of the ZLB
  2. Document analysis of, for example, the rules of procedure of the ZLB
  3. Individual interviews with experts
  4. Topic-oriented focus group interviews with students (1 to 2 focus groups)
  5. Benchmarking (that means: the comparison of products, services, processes and methods) via an internet-supported analysis of other centres of teacher education with a focus on duties and staffing situations.

Results

The Quality Management Unit has discussed the results with both the members of the Rectorate and the board members of the ZLB, as well as with relevant individual committees.
