1. Advice for “studying with children” and financing your studies

Are you a new student at the university and also a parent? Are you becoming parents or planning to start a family?

Comprehensive information around the topic of studying with children is available from Christiane Harmsen in the Office for Equal Opportunity, Family Affairs and Diversity. If you are looking for advice on financial matters, please contact Marlies Piper from Seezeit Social Services.

2. Room for breastfeeding and changing diapers: K 501

The room K 501, located below the Mensa (canteen), is tranquil and ideal if you need to breastfeed, change your baby’s diapers or if your child needs space to play. It is open Mondays to Fridays from 7:00-21:00 and has an in-house phone line (extension -5045). If you want to visit the room on a Saturday, please email us in advance.

3. Copy card

Who to contact

Students with children can request one copy card worth € 10 per semester if they also apply for StEP or present their StEP. You will need to make a deposit of € 10.  You can collect your copy card from the Office for Equal Opportunity, Family Affairs and Diversity (room E 602). Please email or phone in advance to make an appointment in order to pick it up.
